1. Who was Alfred Stieglitz and why is he
noteworthy in the history of photography?
He believed in photography was a fine art and he worked to advertise that idea.
2. Choose a photograph he made, upload it to your blog, and explain why you chose it as your favorite by him.
3. With what famous painter was he in a relationship? Who was she? Upload a painting by her that you like.
Georgia O'Keeffe. She was a young female artist whom Alfred found. He exhibited 10 pieces of her work without her knowledge. She and he got together and talked about the work and she agreed to let him exhibit them. They eventually got married.

Brownie Camera
1) What is a brownie camera?
The Brownie camera was a black, simple, rectangular box covered in fake leather, fitted. To take a picture, you just hold the camera waist height, aim, and turn the switch.
2) Who invented the Brownie camera?
George Eastman invented the Brownie camera. He worked at Kodak.
3) How did it change society and, of course, the photography world?
The camera was really affordable. Each was was only $1. And for only 15 cents, a Brownie camera owner could buy a six-exposure film cartridge that could be loaded in daylight. Plus, Kodak had promised to develop the film for the camera's owner instead of the owner having to invest in materials and a dark room. The brownie camera also allowed pictures of birthday parties and other events instead of just professional photos.
